Windows 10: Feedback about Windows 11 - Ungrouping windows on Taskbar

Hi Microsoft community, Just updated to Windows 11I like the overall design and the new features, My main pain point right now is the fact that I can't ungroup the windows on the task bar. It was a really good option to have the ability to choose between grouping/ungrouping, as a multitasker and switching between windows many times a minute, each second is helpful.So please bring back that option to choose.I believe many people want this official feature after searching for solutions, instead for going to other 3rd party apps.Will it be brought back or no? Thank you

That's currently not supported. I suggest you to drop a feedback to Microsoft on this, using Feedback hub app.

 

Ungroup sessions in the Taskbar

I understand that you want to ungroup the sessions for Antares app in the Taskbar, and keep all other apps grouped.



There is a setting we can change to ungroup the applications in the Taskbar. However, this will ungroup all the other applications in the Taskbar as well. You may want to try it and see if that helps:

1. Press Windows Logo key + I, to open
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Personalization and select
   Taskbar from the left pane.
   
3. Select Never from the drop down for
   Combine taskbar buttons.

Windows 11 ungrouping taskbar

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The Taskbar in Windows 11 is very limited compared to the one in Windows 11, currently there is no native way to ungroup the taskbar icons and the drag and drop function is also missing.

The good news is, Microsoft have listened to the Insiders that tested Windows 11 and they are now testing that functionality and so we should receive that in an upcoming update to Windows 11.

In the meantime, please open the feedback hub (Windows Key + F) and provide your feedback on the lack of functionality on the taskbar in Windows 11 to the developers there.
