Dear Microsoft, I wish to feedback regarding recent news that Microsoft have remove the OOBE bypass for insider builders for future Windows 11 build. However I had concerns especially setting up the PC properly especially the fact when newer PC hardware are released. Windows do not have out of the box native drivers for newer hardware which is why technicians like myself. When we are setting up PCs for users, we bypass the OOBE so we can setup the PC properly by installing drivers from manufacturer website than using Windows update. Bypassing OOBE with registry causes printer errors

This is all Windows 10 21H2 based image Not sure if anyone else has seen this. I'm creating images on a test VM. The images themselves are fine, all setting and software needed are installed and the image capture works as well. I started to notice a problem when after imaging and bypassing the OOBE with a reg edit. Here's the steps I use: 1. image system with sysprepped image (no issues) 2. reboot system and allow it install initial drivers (no issues) 3. on first OOBE screen hit shift+ctrl+F3 and enter audit mode (no issues) 4. merge the regedit file: (no errors reported by the merge) - keys below Code:

5. reboot system (no issues) 6. login with pre-created user account (user is in admin group and no issues) 7. add printer (doesn't matter if local or network - printer is installed with no error or warning) 8. print test page - this is where the failure happens I get error 0x00000bbb 9. the only way to fix this error is a refresh install of windows (reinstall OS and keep all files and software) If I actually go through the OOBE and create a temp user and then logout and login as pre-created user, add printer and print test page it works fine. I'm just wondering what might be getting issed durning the OOBE step. If I left out any info let me know and I'll try to add some more.

 

Windows 11 - Windows Configuration Designer - OOBE Hide True not working

Hi all,

We normally use the Windows Configuration Designer to pre-configure our work computers. The package has worked flawlessly with Windows 10 but on Windows 11 devices the package runs but does not bypass the OOBE questions.

Even though the package creates a local admin account the OOBE questions take your through creating a whole new account before giving access to the computer.

Our packages are very basic, name computer, install a few basic programs, and skip OOBE.

I've tried created new packages, and updating the systems to the latest version of Windows 11 before running the OOBE but that is not working. The last weird thing I've noticed is if the computer came with Win 10 and gets upgraded to Win 11 the package works fine and bypasses the OOBE.

Is OOBE broker supposed to continue Running after Installing Windows 11 23h2?.

I see the OOBE broker running on Windows 11 in task manager, and I am logged into My Microsoft Account after not having Wi-Fi during the OOBE Flow setup and using the bypass to continue the setup. and downloading drivers from a convenient USB flash drive I had and logging into my Microsoft Account, but I still see the OOBE broker still running in the background is this a bug or a feature. if any way You can, can you help me with this without Reinstalling Windows please thanks.
