Windows 10: FIDO2 login issues on Windows 11 Enterprise

Hello, for testing purposes we have enabled FIDO2 Auth in Azure AD. Everything works except: if the notebook is connected to a docking station and the lid is closed, then users cannot log in with the YubicoKey. When the notebook is connected to a docking station but the lid is open, everything works normally. Is this a bug or should I consider it normal behaviour. I suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

• Did you make any changes prior to the issue?
• Did you try with only safe mode or safe mode with networking?
• What is the critical error you are getting?

If you are using Windows 10. To go to safe mode you have to follow the below steps.

If you are able to go to login screen in normal mode try the below steps to go to safe mode with networking and check if the issue persists.

• 
  At the login screen click on the power symbol.
  
• 
  Hold SHIFT + Click Restart.
  
• 
  After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.
  
• 
  Select advanced options under
  Troubleshoot screen.
  
• 
  Click on Startup Settings.
  
• 
  Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to
  Safe Mode with networking and check if you are able to login.
  
• 
  If it logs in Create a new user account and link the Microsoft account and check if the issue persists.

Discovered after trying to sign-into MS that the FIDO2 key was removed

a FIDO2 security key is one option of Passwordless login. Attached is a screenshot showing the advanced security options after I had re-added the same key.





It's unclear whether the Passwordless account setting should now show as being turned ON after I re-added the key and I'm unable to recall if the Passwordless account setting ever used to be turned ON before this mysterious disappearance of the FIDO2 key

After clicking on the link to the ArgonSystems web page posted by commenter - Louis on Super User, a section titled under "User registration of FIDO security keys" is referring to a user first needing to register a security key and add it as an authentication method in their security information page in Azure.

I don't recall this being a required step when originally setting up the key in early 2019. Sorry, I'm somewhat confused as to needing to register using the Azure MFA method

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.
