    Здравствуйте, попытался я обновить свой Win 7, до Windows 8.1. Сначало пробовал через BIOS. По итогу получил ошибку file: boot\bcd oxc000000e. Решил попробовать через файл Setup.exe, но тоже не получилось ошибкв: версия этого файла несовместима с используемой версией windows 32 64 при запуске установочного файла Тогда я решил попробовать программу EASYBCD, после чего я получил ошибку: File: Boot\bcd. the windows boot configuration data file does not contain a valid os entry. Я сейчас не знаю что мне делать...

    Windows boot configuration data file does not contain a valid OS entry

    This morning I cannot boot my windows, it said cannot find OS, or something along that line I forget the exact line. Then I decide to repair it using bootable USB. I check my partition, and there was none. the only things appear are only Dvd drive and the
    usb.

    I use startup repair, hoping it would fix my problem. then it gives me this message.

    Windows boot configuration data file does not contain a valid OS entry


    code error: 0xC0000098

    how to fix this? every time I boot it only shows that message.

    i'm also getting the same error,i replace my hard drive because the previous one is damged , now i'm getting the error and when i try to boot from usb it again give the same error.

    i checked the hard drive is showing in setup.

    does new hard drive require any software ?

    my laptop is Dell n5110.

    please guide me

    The March 1 KB update is the culprit. Same thing happened with my old PC. Did what you have suggested here and it was solved.
