    FILE CORRUPTION

This is as much a part of life as Political Corruption or Corruption in Big Business and at some time we all encounter examples of these.

But the ABSOLUTE WORST is FILE CORRUPTION.

I freakin' HATE that---more even than I hate spiders (which is a lot!)

But, fortunately, it is something Microsoft has provided a fix for that actually WORKS.

And that is SFC aka System File Checker. ZigZag3143 has a great article on this here: SYSTEM FILE CHECK (SFC) and I highly recommend it to all users.

Here is why: TODAY I thought I would run this program because my computer had been acting a bit strangely lately. Files weren't responding quite as they SHOULD. Nothing I could put my finger on, you understand, but...things just weren't RIGHT.

So I ran System File Checker and, sure enough...FILE CORRUPTION.

But SFC /SCANNOW fixed the files. Then I ran THE DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management) tool and, finally, ran SFC /SCANNOW a second time just to make sure all my problems were resolved...looks like this when you're done:

    FILE CORRUPTION 7c93aa5f-f6ca-45ee-89e4-6550009d46f8?upload=true.png

    And life was GOOD again!

I recommend this to all users of Windows 10. These tools are awesome!

    :)

  2. Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:
    • Open WinRAR application in your system.
    • Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
    • A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
    • Now click Open button.
    • Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
    • Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
    • Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
    • Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
    • WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.
I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

    Thanks.
