    File Error 1073740791


    Started getting this error after the Windows 10 April 2018 update. Can document that fact. I had used the "Run as Administrator selection" to get backups on my financial software. I also noticed that the X on the window had stopped working on some things. I'm trying to update a tax program and it won't let me do it and this has moved from annoying to serious. Any ideas?

    I have a new laptop (MS Surface), and am trying to set up Office 365 so that I can work from Excel. However, I am getting an error message -1073740791 and the set up is aborting. Can you please help?

    Hi,

    I have recently bought games from steam and wanted to install steam onto my laptop so I can play these games. But as I save it to my selected file it, a message pops up regarding:

    C:\users\USER\Desktop\.....\Steam\steamSetup.exe

    File system error -1073740791.

    I have tried to restore my hard drive but it hadn't made a difference. Also I have tried to use commands such as /sfc... but the it stops at 8%.

    It would be appreciative if you could reply to my problem.
