Windows 10: File Explorer and Recent Files

Discus and support File Explorer and Recent Files in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; At work, I'll open files on a network path that is only accessible at work, e.g. \\mywork.org\shares\file.xyz These files will appear in my...     File Explorer and Recent Files


    At work, I'll open files on a network path that is only accessible at work, e.g.

    \\mywork.org\shares\file.xyz

    These files will appear in my recent list when opening File Explorer (Win+E). The problem I have is at home where that network path is not accessible, and the File Explorer window will HANG for minutes trying to find the file. I can get around it by running CCleaner and cleaning recent files, but I was wondering if there was something else that could be done where I don't have to wipe out my recent list?

    File Explorer has gone crazy after last nights upgrade.

    My only has icons instead of full descriptions. I can not get back to a point where I have tabs that actually say something. Please tell me how to get my view repaired? help... Help.... HELP!!!

    RECENT PLACES IN FILE EXPLORER

    Click Start > File Explorer > click Quick Access

    There you will find your most recent files and locations.

    You can try changing these settings, see if it does any good:

    Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings
