Windows 10: File Explorer and Start not working ..

Booted up my PC and all of a sudden I cant use windows key shortcuts, turns out I cant even click on start..

While typing this post a window opened of a folder i clicked on 5 minutes ago.. Any ideas?

File explorer icon from taskbar dissappears while working on it

Hi,

To assist you with your concern, we suggest you pin the File Explorer from the Start Menu by following these steps:

• Click the Start Menu.
• Right-click File Explorer.
• Choose Pin to taskbar.

File Explorer Search Not Working


I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.

• Were there any changes made on your computer before encountering the issue?
• What is the OS Build of your Windows 10? To determine the build of Windows 10, kindly perform these instructions:
  • Click the Windows logo (Start button).
  • Click the gear icon (Settings).
  • Select System.
  • On the left pane, choose About.
• Do you have a folder on your Desktop page? If so, can you still access it?
• Can you open File Explorer when accessing it through the Start Menu? File Explorer can be found inside the
  Windows System folder in the Start Menu.
• Does the issue also occur when opening File Explorer using the Run window? You can do this by following these steps:
  • Right-click the Windows logo (Start button), and then click Run.
