Windows 10: File Explorer and UWP apps broken after Update KB5027303

Since update KB5027303 was installed on my Windows 11 PC, the File Explorer hangs shortly once I try to open any folder, and UWP apps just don't open at all.Things I have tried include:- Restarting File Explorer, restarting my PC- Rolling the update back- Running the System File Checker- Uninstalling and re-installing UWP appsnothing has helped, and I couldn't find any other support. Everything was working prior to the update. I'm using the Home version of Windows 11.

Cool Shawn, great find, Now you get a gold star on your MVP



First of all, and most important, it follows the DARK THEME*Thumbs

One problem is it wants to show "Public" which of course is empty(hello Windows 7)

You can still navigate using the breadcrumb trail.

I was able to click a word file and it opened the Word UWP app no problem.

Could not run a batch file(flush DNS as a test), and there is no Run as Admin option yet either.

The UWP File Explorer will render custom icons but not for folders, much like the Start Menu! *Sad
You can create new folders and move items that will reflect in the Win32 environment.

(That icon pack looks great with a dark UI!) *Wink

To get the shortcut in the Start Menu, go to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
and follow Option Two in the tutorial.




It will:
1.) Place a shortcut in the All Apps column.
2.) Then just right click and select "Pin to Start"
