Windows 10: File Explorer Behavior with a General Folder Containing 5000 Small Videos

Hi everyone, I have a IP cam folder with some recording, around 5000 files 10-200k, and every time I open it, it take several minutes to start working. A progress bar appear, the mouse icon change with a rotating circle it's a general defined folder, detailed view, no thumbs with basic colums, name, date, lenght in bytes and I can't use it because is frozen. So to check one file i need to wait several minutes and in the meantime, a counter of current files goes from 0 to 5000 in several minutes slowly. This is crazy. What I wrong? My old 1994 mdos is 100.000 time faster and from powershell

Search syntax for "folders containing specific file types" ??

Thanks Lance. Most of that I know already. I was asking for syntax to specifically find folders containing a certain file type i.e. photos.

For instance a search string that would in effect request: "List all folders on drive D containing photos" or "List all folders on drive D containing videos" and have just the folders containing those files, not the files themselves, listed in the results.

 

Moved a folder from another drive and rename and it still shows as the old folder name in certain places

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check the behavior.

• Create a new folder name it as 'My Videos'.
• Now copy/cut and paste the contents which are in the folder "Videos", and delete the folder "Videos".
• Now check the behavior.

Generating a .txt based file list in Windows 7

I want to be able to generate a .txt file that lists all the files and folders in a specific folder on my PC, but don't know the name of any programs that do that. Searched on google a bit and came up with this guide, but it's for XP and I can't seem to find some of the folder options to modify the .bat file. Any suggestions? Thanks

EDIT: The .bat file will do what I want if it is in the folder I want to do it in, but the option I want to add is having the right click option that it shows.
