Windows 10: File Explorer crashes at sporadic instances and fails to restart AND respond after...

Like in the title, what happens is sometimes on boot, or at other seemingly random times, File Explorer will simply restart, regardless if I'm using the File Explorer in any way, shape, or form, or not. It even happens when I'm gaming, and the event causes my PC to slow down and programs will hesitate to even respond until I open Task Manager to manually restart Windows Explorer. A temporary solution I got to was; video of process.1. Starting a task to run Explorer.exe. It won't run, until I get the Explorer to close and restart.- I suspect it's more than an Explorer issue since on an old lapt

You can try the following steps:

1. Tap down the Windows button first to activate the search bar.
2. After that, in the search bar type control, and then click on the top-most search result, that is on Control Panel.
3. Next, in the search bar type file.
4. Now, from the search results click on File Explorer Options.
5. Then, click on the Clean button.

File explorer not responding

Evening.

I'm having an issue with the file explorer. I'm trying to have a clear out of old files in the downloads folder, but every time I try to delete a file it stops working. The blue bar at the top just says 'File explorer (not responding)'. I've tried restarting
my laptop and it still keeps doing it. Any suggestions??

 

Preview Pane Crashing File Explorer

Hello All,

I've got a user here that is having trouble with her file explorer crashing when the preview pane or details pane is enabled. As soon as you go to move the explorer window or open a file the window stops responding and the mouse moves sporadically with the
blue loading symbol.

Some back story: earlier today the same user was getting OneDrive error on start up. "Sorry, there was a problem with OneDrive. If the problem persists, please install OneDrive." Restarting did not help so I uninstalled/reinstalled OneDrive.

OneDrive seems to be okay now, but the file explorer issue has started. Could OneDrive be crashing the file explorer? Why only with just the preview/details pane enabled. Or is this probably unrelated?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
