Windows 10: File explorer crashes when moving emails to one specific location.

Hello Everyone,Hopefully looking for some help with something that a customer is having issues with at the moment, so the issue is on a specific filepath on one of the servers when she goes to try and move an email file into this file path file explorer just crashes and dies along with the desktop and taskbar that refreshes. In any other location even on the server or on the local machine she can transfer the files just fine that is what's so weird about this issue. She usually does move these emails to this location on a daily basis so it is just something that has randomly started happening.

You can try the following steps:

1. Tap down the Windows button first to activate the search bar.
2. After that, in the search bar type control, and then click on the top-most search result, that is on Control Panel.
3. Next, in the search bar type file.
4. Now, from the search results click on File Explorer Options.
5. Then, click on the Clean button.
6. Lastly, click on Apply and then on OK.

Windows Explorer crashing due to large files

It's an .exe right? Explorer probably read its icon (to a cache) when it was a "small" file and now call the quits when it finds "such a big" file.

If you want to delete it, use the console after killing explorer, you can run the console from TaskManager (Application -> New Task -> cmd). You might want to try copy the file to a different location (copy, not cut) and see if explorer can handle it in the new location before deleting it.

 

Windows File Explorer crashes when attaching a file to an email.

I've tried it with a .PDF file and the same thing happened. My default app is set to Outlook 2016. I've used the "Send To" function religiously until a few weeks ago when it started crashing my Windows Explorer. I have not made any changes. Outlook 2016
is the only mail I care to use. It's the one my work has set up for me.
