Windows 10: File explorer crashing at every copy/paste from Office applications to Chrome/Fixefox

Hi, Im using Windows 11 23H2 22631.4890 since recently.When copy/pasting from Excel then Outlook to a web browser Chrome, Fixefox, the File Explorer will freeze and firefox too and will need a restart from Task Manager.The Windows Update are up-to-date, the sfc scan is successful, the Display Adapter is updated. What else can I do to fix this issue?Cheers

Windows Explorer Copy and Paste problems

Hi,

The copy/paste problem could be due to Windows Explorer issue or faulty keyboard.

Wewould like to know some information to better isolate the problem:

• Is the issue also happening when trying to copy/paste any Office files, or is it only happening in Windows Explorer?
• Have you tried other ways like; right-click + Copy, then right-click + Paste?
  
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Windows Explorer, app crash and reset on copy and paste

Windows(7) Explorer," copy and paste" results in "app crash" and reset . Cannot copy files into or out of Window Explorer. Able to cut and paste files. Able to move files in and out.

 

Windows Explorer crashing due to large files

It's an .exe right? Explorer probably read its icon (to a cache) when it was a "small" file and now call the quits when it finds "such a big" file.

If you want to delete it, use the console after killing explorer, you can run the console from TaskManager (Application -> New Task -> cmd). You might want to try copy the file to a different location (copy, not cut) and see if explorer can handle it in the new location before deleting it.
