  1. File Explorer- Deleting all the previous owners info !!!!

Ok .... last resort, I purchased my laptop from a pawn shop about maybe 2 months ago , so far I am LOVING it !!!! Only problem is the old owner's files & such are still saved & are taking up quite a bit of space now, I did manage to get all the administrator stuff switched over, but it has become a major pain trying to delete all the files & stuff due to the permissions & things of that nature, because instead of allowing me to do it all at once, i have to manually go & grant myself permission, and etc. Does anyone have any kind of solution ?? Plz .... It is driving me BONK

    :)

The Correct Way to delete Windows Previous Installations Files (How?)

    Hi Thay,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Windows.old folder is created automatically which contains previous operating system files in c: drive. As, you have performed Disk Cleanup Windows.old will be removed.

For more information I would suggest you to check if you can find Windows.old folder. Follow the steps below.

    • Open File explorer. Select This PC
    • Click the drive that Windows is installed on (typically, the C: drive).
    • If you can find the Windows.old folder. Open the folder and check if the files are available.\
Hope the above information was helpful. If you need further assistance, please do let us know and we would be happy to help you further.
