File Explorer fails to find files ONLY when initiated from Start

Title. If I search from start Win key, select "Documents" and then click "Search in File Explorer," it opens File Explorer to conduct the search, then finds no results even though the files exist. The search is being conducted from "This PC."If I open another instance of File Explorer manually which opens to "This PC" by default and then conduct the same search, it locates all the files like it is supposed to.Performing the search from Start again, there are no results even though it just found them. If I go to the menu on the left and click on a different directory I clicked "3D Objects"

    :)

    Lagging File Explorer

    How old is your HDD?

If it is starting to fail (e.g. developing dodgy blocks/sectors) you can experience long delays when you try to access files on it.

Regardless of its age, I would suggest that you immediately backup your:
    • Personal files
    • Driver installers
    • Program installers and keys
