    File Explorer Freezes Opening Microsoft Files - Windows 10 Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.437)


    Every time I use File Explorer and double-click on a Word or Excel file, File Explorer freezes or hangs. I just get the spinning circle and have to End Task.


    I tried changing the option Open File Explorer from Quick Access to This PC and it still hangs.


    Please note - even if I open File Explorer and right click on a Word or Excel file, it freezes.


    Please help.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    WIndows File Explorer Tabs - Version 1809

    We are version 1809 OS build 17760.1 and we still don't have a file explorer tab. If macOS can do it why can't windows 10 do it. doing records management and moving files to many different location with multiple windows is not so productive depending on
    ones screen size. When are we gonna implement file explorer tabs?
