Windows 10: File explorer has white search box!

As you can see my file explorer has a white search bar. I've tried many things labelled reference to the post below. Does anyone know how to fix this?? This has been an ongoing problem for around 7 months. Cortana search box changed to white color

This just happened to my laptop on upgrading to Pro! Step 3 here fixed it for me Change Color of Cortana Search Box to White in Windows 10

 

File Explorer Search Not Working


I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.

 

File explorer search box history dispears after click Quick access

Windows 10 version 20h2

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open file explorer

2. type something in search box

3. clear search box

4. click search box again, you will see a drop down list showing recent search history

5. click the Quick access which is located at the top of file explorer Navigation pane

6. click search box again, it does not show the history list anymore

I have to close file explorer and open it again to get the search history back.
