Windows 10: File Explorer in Win11 searches is not finding contents of .doc and .docx files unless...

Hello! I recently bought a new Win11 HP tower Version 21H2, Build 22000.527 and have spent over a month getting all the software, including Microsoft 365, onto it. Before loading half a terabyte of documents onto it, I decided to test searching on it first and I'm glad I did.…I created files of types .doc, .docx, .pptx, .pdf, and .txt with a few words in them.When I search the folder they're in, I find all but the .doc and docx unless the word that I'm searching for is also in the filename; then it finds it.…I've tried repeatedly and get the same result; no .doc or docx contents ever make t

Search Content of MHT files

Most probably, this is a problem with the search and indexing of your Windows 10 computer. For us to provide the best resolution possible, we would like to clarify the following:

• Are you trying to search the content of MHT files using Cortana?
• Have you tried searching it using the File Explorer?
• Are you using a third-party app to search for the content of MHT files?

As an initial troubleshooting step, we suggest that you run the troubleshooter for search and indexing. To run the Search and Indexing troubleshooter, follow these steps:

• Click the Start button and select the Settings
  icon.
• Choose Update & Security from the list.
• Click Troubleshoot in the left pane of the window.
• Under Find and fix other problems.
• Select Search and Indexing and click Run the troubleshooter.

.docx previews as .xml file or don't preview at all in file explorer, but .doc previews correctly. How do I preview .docx files?

I am unable to preview .docx in file explorer. I have repaired several times, followed various suggestions in this forum and in internet search, all to no avail. One fix allowed it to preview as an .xml file, rather than saying "unable to preview file".
I am able to preview previous version .doc files correctly. What do I need to do to correct this issue????

 

Unable Search for .odt (LibreOffice Docs) file formats using File Contents.

Hello,

I just want to let you know that the search still does not work.

I have also tried the File Explore by using a keyword, ".odt: keyword."

The result shows only .odt doc files with names which include the keyword.

No .odt doc files which contain the keyword in the body.

As mentioned in the original post, I have done everything that was suggested including:

1. Run the DISM Tool.
2. Run the System File Checker utility.

I hope that someone knows how to resolve the issue.
