Windows 10: File Explorer is missing "system" files under Music

One of the recent releases of Windows has caused File Explorer not to show *.jpg files in my music directory. I do have it set to show hidden files. Some programs can see the .jpg files for example, album art and folder in addition to the music files .mp3 & .flac, so I know they are there.


Is there some other way to get them to be displayed and then recognized by commands such as DELETE *.jpg? Thanks!

File Explorer missing with Windows 10

The issue could occur if File Explorer is unpinned from the taskbar due to change in system settings.

If you have not tried to pin the File Explorer icon, then I suggest you to perform the below steps and check if it helps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Type "File Explorer" without the quotes in the search bar and right click on it.

3. Then click on Pin to taskbar.

Some files listed in Windows Explorer are blue font

I seem to have run out of room on a Windows XP Pro system. I tried to defrag but don't have but 7% room available. I looked in Windows Explorer to try to find some huge files that might be corrupt and I see a few that are listed in blue. What does that mean? I have not compressed anything on purpose. Thanks
