Windows 10: File EXplorer is unreliable since update '1903'

    File EXplorer is unreliable since update '1903'


    since update version 1903 to Win 10 my Explorer is crashing frequently (for 1 week now). Eg double-click on a folder, eg local C station. I get a circle of Windows busy, then Explorer crashes, I get flung out. I have to click documents to re-open Explorer. Also the top bar (current location) does not change on double-clicking a a new folder to open.


    File Explorer worked normally last month.

    • Since when have you been experiencing this issue?
    • Were there any changes on your PC before this happened like software or updates installed?

    For initial troubleshooting, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Access this link

      C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
    • Delete all the files.
    • After deleting the files kindly try and see if there's a thumbnail preview of your files.

    Win 10 1809 kb4497934 update fails with 0x80070157

    Hello,

    I tried all suggestions up to upgrading to 1903 from

    step 1 in fixes. I also tried step 2. None of the fixes

    solved the problem. I am not willing to upgrade to

    1903 - not during the first month of availability! Do

    you take me for a fool? Windows Update continues

    to be the most unreliable component of Win 10.
