Windows 10: File Explorer keeps opening by itself during start up and by itself.

Whenever I sign in, file explorer automatically opens. Not only that, but it also opens a new window of itself automatically at exactly xx:x0 time example: 5:10, 7:30. It also only opens itself in the "This PC".I have tried the system configuration method, autoplay, reinstalling windows, restarting explorer, and many others but it continues.

1. Are you getting any specific error code/error message while trying to open the file?
   
2. Are you aware of any recent changes made on the device?
   
3. Which version of Windows are running on your device?

However, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below.



Method 1

Restart Windows Explorer

1. Click on Start, type in “Task Manager”
   
2. Now go to Process tab. Click on Windows Explorer and
   Restart.
   
3. Then check the status of the issue.
   
4. If the issue still persist, try with the method 2.
   

Method 2

I suggest you to try the suggested steps from the article Fix File Explorer

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

I did the steps you wrote. All the settings were as you suggested. The File Explorer keeps crashing.
