Windows 10: File Explorer keeps popping up

File Explorer keeps continuously popping up. Will open an infinite numbers of windows. Have tried the following and they haven't worked:


1. Closed explorer in task manager and restarted the process


2. Removed autoplay


3. Ran sfc /scannow in command prompt


4. Scanned computer for viruses and malwareware


5. Ran computer in clean boot environment


6. Ran these in command prompt:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth


Safe boot did fix the problem, but as the clean boot did not, I'm not sure how to proceed.

Any suggestions?

I understand how frustrating it can be when it pops up every time while you access other applications and games. However, we can quickly check with the task manager and see if you are able to resolve the issue.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned by Krishna Prasobh V dated
March 31, 2016 from the article - Windows file explorer pops up on Windows 10.

The explorer folder keeps popping up

Hi, my windows explorer keeps popping up even though I followed the steps on this link: Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

My cmd told me that it corrected the corrupt files, I did a quick scan with norton anti-virus and it told me no threats were found. But still, the explorer pops up. Any help would be greatly aprecciated.
