Windows 10: File explorer keeps saying "not responding" and apps have been crashing.

Hello, I have been having several issues recently. I believe they started within the past week or two. Firstly, I am nearly unable to do anything within the file explorer. Whenever I try to open folders it does not matter which ones, some are even empty, the app freezes and says "not responding" at the top. I cannot make a new folder either, it will do the same thing. I would say this is my main issue, as I need to be able to access and organize my files. My second issue is that my apps have been crashing, including Google and the game Genshin Impact. When Google crashes it becomes a white s

I'm having an issue with the file explorer. I'm trying to have a clear out of old files in the downloads folder, but every time I try to delete a file it stops working. The blue bar at the top just says 'File explorer (not responding)'. I've tried restarting
my laptop and it still keeps doing it. Any suggestions??
