Windows 10: File Explorer Lagging and Not Previewing PDFs

I have Windows 10, and use Edge to view my PDF Files. When I open File Explorer it takes a second to open, however, when I have the Preview Pane option on, it almost freezes.When I try to select a new file, it takes a while to respond and when using my keyboard arrows to go from one file to the next it lags before I can select the next one. This is what I have already tried:1. Ensure the Preview Pane Isn't Disables within File Explorer2. Restarted Windows Explorer Using Task Manager3. Made sure "Show preview handlers in preview pane" box was checked in the view Options.4. Made sure "Always

How to fix PDF Preview in File Explorer?

I need help to Preview PDFs with File Explorer but below steps are not working.

[Fix] PDF Thumbnail and Preview Not Showing in Explorer

Preliminary step – Enable thumbnails and preview handlers in Explorer

1. Open Folder Options
   
2. Enable “Show preview handlers in preview pane”
   
3. Uncheck “Always show icons, never thumbnails
   

If thumbnail and preview functionality is still missing for PDF file types, proceed to the next step.

Microsoft PowerToys is not acceptable alternative because it is not approved; my guess is PowerToys utility could wreak havoc within the Windows operating system; as such, novice users have often been encouraged to use caution.

Preview in File Explorer with Edge

To do this follow the steps below.

• Press WINDOWS + i on your keyboard
  
• Click on "APPS" then click on Default apps
  
• Click on Microsoft Edge browser
  
• Then in the "PDF" option you choose which default browser you want to open files in PDF format.

pdf preview in Windows 10 file explorer

I have been using "preview pane" in file explorer forever. However, for some unknown reason, the preview pane for pdf files have become very small, to the point where the pdf file preview pane is too small and unreadable. preview pane for all other files
appears to be ok (large enough as before). this is only affecting pdf files.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe reader.

I am looking for suggestions to get back to where the preview pane of pdf files is as large as before
