Windows 10: file explorer loading for too long, then freezes.

Hello, whenever i open my fire explorer and click on any file, it’s loading for several minutes, after i try to close it because i don’t have the time to wait 10 minutes till one file load, i try to close it, once its closed, my taskbar freezes and its freezes till i don’t turn my computer off holding button my pc. This got happening recently, i feel it might be some virus but i haven’t downloaded anything recently… Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Loading of documents in windows explorer takes long time

Recently, my windows explorer is really slow whereby a green loading bar is visible for a long time.

I tried multiple options such as:
- a refresh via the task manager
- rebuilding index
- clear explorer history (+launching folder windows in a separate process)
- uncheck "Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties"
- msconfig > uncheck "Windows Search" (this option is not visible anymore in my System Configuration either)

but none of these options work. As a result of this problem, I cannot create new folders or whatsoever as the explorer seems to freeze. I wonder what other steps can be taken to fix this loading problem.

File Explorer freezes when hovering the cursor over the "create" section.

• Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
• Are you getting any error messages after File Explorer freezes?
• What troubleshooting have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest you restart Windows Explorer by following the steps below:

• Type Task Manager in search bar.
• Click Task Manager.
• On the pop-up window, under Windows processes, scroll-down to
  Windows Explorer.
• Right-click Windows Explorer, and click Restart.

File explorer slow with loading thumnails and files

Step by step guide:
1. Hold Win+r to open run
2. Type msconfig and hit ok or enter
3. Click Services
4. Navigate to Windows search (you can sort the list in descending alphabetical order)
5. Uncheck tickbox
6. Click apply then ok
7. Select to restart now
