    File Explorer locks up every time I start Windows since installing 1903


    Every time I start windows and open File Explorer I get this --- and the bar with Quick access slowly fills with green (almost a full minute). Then nothing. File Explorer won't let me select a file. I can't open other apps. Eventually If I try to close File Explorer several times, it closes, the desktop goes blank and then restarts. If I don't try to use file explorer I can open apps and access files from the apps.


    I'm having the same problem with my desktop computer and my Surface. It started when they "upgraded" to 1903. File Explorer locks up every time I start Windows since installing 1903 935a8db2-18c9-4123-ba63-a39f4ed41e3e?upload=true.png

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    How to install outlook express on windows xp with explorer 8?

    This is an awkward problem to solve and one I don't think is worth the time and effort.

    The OP would be better off either using a modern webmail service like gmail or outlook.com or using a modern email client like Windows Live Mail like FX-GMC suggested or Thunderbird from Mozilla. If nothing else, Outlook Distress was notorious for corrupting its data files and losing all your email in one easy step. Not worth it.
