Windows 10: File Explorer moving from background to foreground

    File Explorer moving from background to foreground


    I am an elementary school teacher and I will have the students open up file explorer to open a saved word document. Word is in the forground and file explorer is in the background.The students then close the laptop lid while awaiting my instructions. After instructions and picking up the screen File Explorer has switched to the forground and Word is in the background. This is very dificult for 4-5 year olds to figure out why they cannot see their document anymore. This also happens if the lid is left up and idle for about 1 minute. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Some system in

    An app is suddenly running in background instead of foreground as it should

    I run Windows 10.

    When I tried to start an app it suddenly started to run in the background instead of foreground as it should, as seen in the Taskmanager.

    It is an "external" app and is thus not listed in the Settings-privacy- background apps list

    I want to force it back to run as foreground app again.

    Is it possible?

    File Explorer moving from background to foreground

    Windows 11--most recently opened Explorer window keeps popping up into the foreground

    About a month ago Windows Explorer started the annoying habit of routinely moving its most recently opened window into the foreground. Is there a way to stop it from doing this?

    For example, I'll open an Explorer window to open a file into another application, and a few minutes later, for no apparent reason, Windows Explorer will interrupt the application by popping its Explorer window into the foreground. The same thing will happen when watching a video: a minute or two into watching the video and the most recently opened Explorer window will move into the foreground interrupting the video.

    The only way to stop this behavior is to close all Explorer windows while watching a video or working in another application. Annoying as heck. Any suggestions? Thanks.
