Windows 10: File Explorer not showing .png thumbnails; have exhausted all options!

Hi there!I have tried everything applicable to my computer at this link: FIX: Thumbnails are not showing in Windows 10/11My png files are just showing the default icon and I am losing it. I don't want to have to click every image to view it!Please let me know if anything worked for you or if you know what else I could try! I am creating resources for back to school I'm a teacher and this is really dragging down my efficiency! ...and my will to make said resources!

The issue that you’ve encountered regarding the settings to view the thumbnails on the
File Explorer of your Windows 10 computer may be caused by some configuration or programs that prevent Windows from working properly. To sort out your concern, we suggest that you manage the
File Explorer settings and select the Always show icons, never thumbnails option. To do this, you may follow the step below:

• Click Start, type File Explorer, and then press
  Enter.
• On the File Explorer window, click the View tab > Options > Change folder and search options > View
  tab.
• Under the Advanced settings section, select the Always show icons, never thumbnails option.
• Click the Apply > OK button to save the changes.

File Explorer - Some PDF's show thumbnail image, some don’t

In Windows 10 File Explorer, I see thumbnails for a few of my pdf files but still see the generic Adobe pdf icon for most of them.

• In Windows 10 folder options, the checkbox for “Always show icons, never thumbnails” is unchecked.
• On the Adobe Reader preferences general tab, “Enable PDF thumbnails previews in Windows Explorer” is checked.
• Adobe Acrobat is set as my default PDF viewer.
• I have used Disk Cleanup to delete all my thumbnails to clear and rebuild the cache, yet the problem persists.

Any suggestions on how I can see all the pdf icons as thumbnails?
Windows 10 Pro, Version 1903, Build 18362.657
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (20.006.20034)

Many thanks for you reply. I have done all the steps you suggested, but no change,

When I open a folder containing photos, some open correctly but the vast majority open with thumbnails, but they very quickly get overwritten and you can not longer see the thumbnails.

Are there any more suggestions?
