File explorer option 'Select the typed item in the view tab' too fast

In File explorer option 'Select the typed item in the view tab': When typing more than one letter I find that unless typing extremely fast Windows jumps to a file before I have typed in all the letters I want. Ususally I can only get 3 or 4 letters in maximum. Is there a way to make this more accessible to a slower typing rate without switching to the option 'Automatically type into the Search Box'. Then doing the search and right clicking 'Open file location'.

    :)

File Explorer Icons in View tab

The View tab in File Explorer shows the Small Icon choice when viewing file lists. But it unselects itself when I view lists in different folders.
The automatic-deselection process doesn’t happen with other icons I’ve selected (the Preview Icon, for example).

How do I get the icon to always remain selected for the file list in any folder I might open?

    Moved from: Office / Unknown/other / Windows 10 / Office 365 Home

File explorer option 'Select the typed item in the view tab' too fast

Is there a way to make File Explorer open with the view tab as default

When I open Win10's File Explorer, the default tab is always set to the "Home" tab. Is there a way to set the "View" tab as the default tab?

Reason I want File Explorer to open with the "View" tab active is that I want to be able to select "List" view or "Detail" view without having to first click the "View" tab.

    Thanks,
