Windows 10: file explorer overwriting settings in tablet mode

I'm using a Lenovo Yoga 2in1 Laptop and it work great, apart from Windows. It seams to me there is no way to prevent Windows from changing my file explorer settings while in Tablet mode.Yes i could deactivate it permanently using some commands i found on reddit, but i like the rest of the feature set, like the bigger Work-/ Penspace when I'm drawing something or the automatic appering on screen keyboard when I google stuff.

Tablet Mode doesn't automatically turn on

Hi Roice,

We suggest you to follow the below steps to make the tablet mode permanent:

• Click start and select settings.
• Select settings and then select tablet mode.
• Now you have different options to choose from, please choose settings that suits you.

File explorer is not responding correctly on tablet/non-tablet mode

Windows 10 is responding correctly on the status for tablet or non-tablet mode EXCEPT.. file explorer.

The file explorer react on the keyboard attached to the Surface, not on the status of the tablet-mode. This is a bug!

The tablet mode is switched off when connecting to a docking, but the file explorer is still in tablet mode.

Without a docking, when you enable/disable the tablet mode everything is responding as expected, except the file explorer...

 

Increased File-Explorer spacing/tablet mode settings

Greetings everyone, I'm currently trying to create a theme for Windows 10 that looks as close to WIndows 11 as possible. I am using 21H1 Build 19043.1288. For this reason, I'd like to increase the spacing in File Explorer, just like in Win11. There are some settings under tablet mode settings that should apply even when the tablet mode is inactive (the setting is called "When I am NOT using tablet mode: make buttons in file explorer easier to touch"). However, activating this setting doesn't change anything, everything stays the same. Here's the kicker: I think it DID work at some point and I manually unchecked it a few months ago. What's going on? a bug? or did MS remove this feature? Can I circumvent it in any other way (registry edit, third party app etc.)? Thanks! *Party Kind regards
