Windows 10: File explorer panel switch to last search on resize

Other opened windows are not affected until search is performed.- No solution as mentioned in other threads worked, except changing UAC.Any ideas how to get rid of this annoying glitch?Thank you Win 10 Pro, ver 20H2, build 19042.

File explorer panel switch to last search on resize

Hi,

Since a few weeks something strange is happening with my 7 years old Windows 10 installation.

Windows is updated.

After I perform the first search in file explorer after boot, every time I resize the file explorer windows (dragging the border or maximizing or removing maximizing) Explorer windows go back to last search performed.

I have tried everything that I am aware of.

Found nothing on the internet about this weird behaviour.

It doesn't happen in Safe mode. it doesn't happen before first search in file explorer has been made.

I tried stopping every possible service and app, it still happens.

I can provide you everything: screenshots, video, even remote access, registry configuration, list of installed apps.... whatever you may need.

P.S. this is the first time since... forever... I haven't been able to figure a solution to a windows problem by myself or looking on the Internet.

P.S. 2 I performed sfc /scannow and dism - online ... everything is good

File Explorer Search Not Working


I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.
