    File explorer: PDF's preview showing "INDEX OF" in network folders


    Hi,This issue started today at work on several computers on both Windows 11 and Windows 10. Could it be related to a recent Windows update? Pdf files and only PDF's previews aren't working in any network folders, Instead of showing the file preview it shows "INDEX OF:"Previews work normally for excel, word, etc.Weird stuff.

    File explorer in windows 10 does not preview pdf documents

    I have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. I followed all the instructions listed at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...howing-in-windows-10-file/2d46bdd4-e463-421d- bd1c-6811b6dc9b58 and yet there is no pdf
    preview in the file explorer. In the past I had a preview of pdf files in the file explorer. So I ask, is it because of the latest windows updates, I do not have a preview of pdf files now?

    Hi,

    Setting the Preview pane to show or hide in File Explorer will apply to all folders. If you wish to hide the Preview pane in File Explorer, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Tap on View tab.
    • Click Preview Pane to view/hide it.

    yet there is no pdf preview in the file explorer. In the past I had a preview of pdf files in the file explorer. So I ask, is it because of the latest windows updates, I do not have a preview of pdf files now?
