File Explorer problem - search and more

I have Windows 10 2004 update, until 7-10 days ago no problems. I do the Updates whenever available.

First problem was the Search tab in File Explorer would not accept any input.

Last 24 hours, this changed to the search tab accepting a single character from the keyboard, but within a file folder keyboard search for a file or subfolder by its first character would not move the cursor. Howver, PageUp etc do work.

I ran the troubleshooter as Admin for search but this does not fix the problem.

Just finished both SFC /Scannow and then DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and both come up with no problems.

An adjacent system with the same Windows configuration and updates, but a different chipset than the problem one, has none of these problems.

The problem machine has an AMD chipset, 2012 vintage. But this has never been a problem before.

    :)

  2. File Explorer Search Not Working

I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.
