  1. File Explorer remembering position of scroll bar in previously seen folder - am I crazy?

Say you're looking at a folder called "numbers" that has 500 subfolders in it, each with a number as its name. You scroll down so that folder "278" is in the middle of the screen. If you double-click and go into folder 278 to look at what files are there and then click the back button, to go back to the "numbers" folder, your scroll position will be at the top again (folder "001"). This is amazingly annoying if you need to go into, and back out of, many folders because you need to scroll all the way down again to get to the next one.

Things is, I feel like it was never like this before -- that it would remember your position in the "numbers" folder -- but I can't find anything to confirm this. Am I nuts? And is there no way to achieve this?

Scroll bar keeps resetting in Windows File Explorer.

For some reason, when I'm browsing a long list of files, if I stop moving my scroll wheel for a few seconds, the scroll bar in the file explorer jumps back up to the very top. Which is annoying when I'm browsing a folder that has hundreds of files in it.
This only happens in the file explorer. Any suggestions?

  3. How to have File Explorer remember layout and position on-screen

This is behavior that greatly puzzles me in regard to the new File Explorer in Windows 10. Previously, well in XP Pro anyway, I had it remember its position and layout for a particular use. That is, when I used the Explorer and then minimized it, it would
reopen in the same position and with the layout it had before.

On Windows 10 I find that after a while of it being minimized, it will open at some default layout in the top left corner of the screen. So while not in use, it seems to forget its position and layout.

Is there a setting somewhere that I can amend so that it remembers?

Nice if Start screen "remembered" its position

This is not really a problem to be solved now, but a suggestion to Microsoft for a future update or version of Windows.

It would be nice if the Start screen remembered its position. For example, if I open the Start screen and scroll down to those applications that start with the letter "W", the next time I open the Start screen, it reverts back to displaying the top of the
list. It would be nice if it "remembered" I was on "W" and opened at that position.
