Windows 10: File Explorer Search Win 10 vs Win 7

In Win 7 file search, I could create custom searches by selecting multiple folders across multiple drives. For instance, I could search for "filename" in folders named "DATA" on drive F, G, H,
I and J. and not bother with the first five drives, or the other stuff on those drives. I can't seem to figure out how to do that in Win 10.

File Explorer Search Not Working


I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.

 

Win 7 and Win 10 on network

I have home network with separate modem, router, and WAP's. My Windows 7 computer does NOT list the Windows 10 computers on network computer list but the Windows 10 computers network list DO list the Windows 7 computer.

Turned off firewalls, gave permissions, shared drives. Nothing allows Win 7 computer to access the Win 10 computers.

Any suggestions for a fix?

 

Where is the file search box in Win 10?


No idea then, you can use Cortana and get the results below, or type it into file explorer and it does the same... bot suggested above and quite simple to use.. very similar to Windows 7
