Windows 10: File explorer sidebar suddenly has huge icons

the side bar icons are suddenly huge and now it is a pain to find the folder I have pinned because it only displays a few folders at a time. I tried restoring all the view settings to default and that did not work. here is a link to a picture because this website wouldn't let me upload an image.

Tabbed File explorer sidebar takes a long time to load

Soon after receiving the update to add tabs to the file explorer, the sidebar takes quite a while to load. Often it will take up to around 10 seconds to load the sidebar with all my pinned locations.

I notice this issue whenever I open the file explorer, open a new tab in file explorer, or when explorer opens to display locations to save a file.

Is this a bug? Are there any known troubleshooting steps or workarounds?

 

OneDrive Sidebar in File Explorer not working - OneDrive not showing in Registry

My File Explorer OneDrive sidebar shortcut does not work. It does not point to the location of my OneDrive folders (or any location) and if I click on it nothing happens. The
same goes for "Open Folder" if I click on the OneDrive icon in the taskbar.

Also, in my registry, there is no key called
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive

This can't be normal.

Any suggestions/help? Thanks in advance!

No, I'm not using any Magnifier apps.

I haven't changed my default settings. They are as follows:

as noted earlier, I see this also in Powerpoint but not Word or Excel. The following screenshot is of Word (which is all correct and normal sized) against Adobe and Powerpoint both. You can see the obvious differences in font sizes.....
