Windows 10: File Explorer sometimes freezes after sleeping the computer?

This happens sometimes online on Win10 on a Lenovo Flex 5 14. I have two other systems that don't seem to exhibit this behavior in File Explorer.

I have these explorer tabs open frequently, but sometimes after the computer has been slept they will not show on the screen. I can select them from the taskbar and the current window loses focus as if they have been successfully pulled up, but they do not appear anywhere on the screen.

When I look at the windows in question via Alt+Tab, they are blank. Note, however, that other File Explorer windows are visible and function normally. Only specific ones are affected.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what causes this? The laptop is auto rotated sometimes (though only rarely), where the other two PCs I have are desktops, so do not have auto rotation. Is it possible it's related?

It's hard to find information online that matches this via search. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Internet Explorer and computer freezes

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down to the issue.

• Did you install any third party security application?
• Is the issue specific when accessing a specific websites?
• Did you install any add-ons?
• Did you receive any error message when the computer freeze?

This issue could be due to application conflicts, corruption in the settings or due to malware attacks.

I would like to inform you that the tabs getting blank might be only a symptom that the computer is going to freeze. The real issue may not be associated with Internet Explorer.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to run
System Maintenance troubleshooter finds and clean up unused files and shortcuts and performs maintenance tasks.

• • Press Windows key and type Troubleshooting.
  • Select Troubleshooting and hit Enter.
  • Click on View all in the left pane of the window.
  • Select System Maintenance.

Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

If the issue persists, I suggest you to run a full scan of your computer using Microsoft Security Scanner and check if it helps.

File Explorer freezes when hovering the cursor over the "create" section.

• Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
• Are you getting any error messages after File Explorer freezes?
• What troubleshooting have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest you restart Windows Explorer by following the steps below:

• Type Task Manager in search bar.
• Click Task Manager.
• On the pop-up window, under Windows processes, scroll-down to
  Windows Explorer.
• Right-click Windows Explorer, and click Restart.
