Windows 10: File / Folder Disappeared While Accidentally in File Explorer. Any Recourse?

I have been editing an audio file in Premiere and, while transferring something over from photoshop and unknowingly tabbed into File Explorer, hit some keys I shouldn't have???. This resulted in file and folder being wiped off the face of the earth. Not in the recycle bin. Not hidden. Just gone. Searched the entire hard drive by now. "Restore previous versions" doesn't work.The file structure was Folder > Subfolder > Audio.mp3"Subfolder" is gone, as is Audio.mp3.I suspect I hit some "undo" shortcut that resulted in the file not being deleted per se but rather just zapped out of exist

The issue that you’ve encountered regarding the File Explorer may be caused by some configuration or files mismatched. To sort out your concern, we suggest that you reset the folder settings from the
Folder Options. This will reboot the folder’s preferences to its default state and remove any possible software conflict. To do this, you may follow these steps:

• Click Start, type File Explorer, and press
  Enter.
• On the File Explorer window, click the View tab > Options > Change folder and search options > View.
• Under the Folder views section, click Reset Folders, and then select
  Yes to confirm.
• Once you’re done, click OK, and then check if the issue persists.

Note: This process will remove the list of files that you recently opened.

A file folder has disappeared.

Please explain this in more detail, where has the file/folder disappeared from, is that from inside Word or from Windows File Explorer

Do you know the exact folder you saved to, and if you open Windows File Explorer, can you not locate that file?

Does the file still appear in the Recent list of Word, if so, what is the reported location of that file?

 

Disappearing folder

I've encountered a strange problem in windows 10 where I tried to delete a file in a folder, but ended up deleting the whole directory. It did so without the usual pop-up to confirm delete or say it was too big for the recycle bin. It was my Videos folder, so pretty big, but the disk allocation has also remained the same.

I've always had a problem with 'double icons' for the different user folders, including videos, and so I'm thinking it could have something to do with the whole thing, especially as now one of the two video folders has disappeared from the users folders.

The first thing i tried was 'Undo delete', but it just bought the folder back with non of the contents. Then, I went straight to Recuva, but it came up blank (there must have been over 50 videos in the folder)

I'm at a little bit of a loss as where to start looking for this disappeared folder and was hoping someone might have some suggestions?
