Windows 10: File giving random code when opened.

When i open a file which iv'e had saved on my PC for about a year it brings me to chrome but doesn't open up the PDF of a conversation iv'e had from a couple months ago. When i open the file in other formats like notes app or other apps it gives the same long lines of random code it says html at the top followed by code. The file is stored in the files explorer app however i haven't logged into the Microsoft account on my PC for a few months since iv'e been using another account and the last time i did, the file worked normally but now it doesn't. Can someone help me retrieve the file back

opening .dds files with gimp

Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?

 

PowerPoint file crashes PowerPoint upon opening

since this happens in some of the computers only, suggest that you open the file on working computer and copy everything and paste to a new powerpoint file.
