Windows 10: File history back up takes tooooooooooo long to complete.

I configured File history like this: First selected a Drive. Then selected the folders to include. Then Turned on File history backup. The backup started. The backup process is still in progress for days together. When ever tried to restore Actually I dont want to restore now, but I am learning from a book and want to see that restore interface and check it it says "you wont be able to access copies of your files until this complete. This much take a wile..." . Then I decided to reduce the size of folders to be backed up and excluded many of them. Again I turned on file history backup. Even now I am getting the same message. Then I checked the size of "File history" folder on the backup drive. It is still increasing. When does it complete such that I can access the "Restore" window.

Further, The structure of the interface of file history backup configuration pages is highly confusing. There are many things like "more options", "Backup now", "Stop using drive", "see advanced settings" , so on and so on. I cant understand the logic of these buttons and links. It is very hard to understand which link or button takes us where? I am not able to follow the browsing track and know "where I am" in the unknown roads of a unplanned city. Can any body help me.
