Windows 10: File History fails, where can I find detailed error messages HELP!!!?

I have tried to user "File history" to make backups of my files on D: (not of the "official" Windows libraries) to an USB HD. I'm on Windows 10, latest update (anniversary edition), 64 bits.

I know that the error messages appear only in the event logs of Windows and I look there for them.

First I had many errors because of too long paths (>259 characters). I spend hours to correct everything, so now it should be OK but the backup still crashes when I include some directories.

Error in the event log: 201, something like "Impossible to analyse the changes...". No other error. And nothing is backed up.

As this happens only when I include some directories, I suppose it has to do with specific files - but which ones? How can I find out which file causes the problem? Does "File History" save more detailed informations somewhere?

Windows 10 fails to update from version 1607 to latest version for about 2 months now., Asus laptop. Error 0x80070057 or 0x80070562

I have two Asus laptops (N751JX and N75SL)where upgrade from version 1607 fails every day for the last 2 to 3 months.

Both systems are stuck on Win 10 Home 1607 OS build 14393.2035

I tried about all tricks and suggestions I could find on the internet, but nothing helps.

Error 0x80070057 or 0x80070562 ...

Is there any log files where I could find more detailed information on what is wrong. Usually I only get the message " Something went wrong" or "Windows update failed"

 

WTH does this mean ??? Failed Error details: Code 80240020

Updated to windows 10. Nothing happened took most of a day to discover this message, Failed Error details: Code 80240020, I can not find any explanation. Help.

 

I can't believe it... nobody know where the "File history" saves its log files?

Or is it even worse that I thought, this scrappy piece of software not only doesn't display, but also doesn't even records why it stops?

 

You need to Event Viewer. Open up "Applications and system Logs" -> "Microsoft" -> "Windows" -> "File-History Core" and/or "File-History Engine". They each have a single log. Your errors should be noted there.

 

I already looked there, the error 201 comes and nothing else.
Is there any place where "File History" saves a real log?
