  1. "File History has found files that are..." Error Message When Accessing Control...

    Symptoms:

When you encrypt a file by using Encrypting File System and then decrypt a file, you will see an error message in File History:

"File History has found that files that are encrypted by using the Encrypting File System, are on a network location, or on a drive that doesn't use NTFS. These files won't be backed up."

    Cause:

There is a known bug in File History that the error message does not disappear after decrypting certain files by using Encrypting File System.

    More Information:

    Steps to Reproduce this Problem:

    1. Go to a folder in File Explorer - for example, your Downloads folder.

    2. Hold down ALT and double-click a file.

    3. Click Advanced, check "Encrypt contents to secure data", click OK, select "Encrypt this file only" and click OK.

    4. Click OK.

    5. Go to File History in Control Panel.

    6. Turn off File History and you will see an error message.

    7. Repeat steps 1-2.

    8. Click Click Advanced, un-check "Encrypt contents to secure data", click OK, and click OK.

    9. Repeat step 5.

You will now see an error message stating that File History has found files encrypted by using Encrypting File System, on a network location, or on a drive that is not using NTFS.

    :)

  2. cannot access file/or permissions

I have a file i need to run on Windows 7 Home Premium. I get the error message saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

So I right click and choose Properties to access the permissions but I cannot. In the Security tab I get a message saying, " You do not have permission to view or edit this objects permission settings.".

Next I boot into the Windows 7 Hidden Administrator Mode - and even with this I get all the same error messages.

Please help me as I really need to run This file.
