Windows 10: File History not backing up Pictures

Hi all - hoping you can help. I'm using File History on Windows 10 to back up my files on an external HDD. But it doesn't seem to be backing up my pictures even when I specifically add the pictures folder as something to be backed up.

I did the first back up on this new PC on 17 July. This remains the date that shows against the Pictures folder in the back up but the folder is empty. All other folders seem to be backing up okay and have the updated date against them. I backed up yesterday for example - documents is showing as updated on 5 Sep, as are my pictures which happen to be on Amazon Drive. But the Pictures folder is still empty and still showing 17 July as the last update.
