    Windows 10Unusual condition was encountered during finalization of a backup cycle for configuration C:\Users\JohnB\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\ConfigFile History will not do a back up of my files.

    Unusual condition was encountered during File History backup

    Hi,

    I set up File Hystory and the first fuill backup run smooth however I received the following message:

    Unusual condition was encountered during scanning user libraries for changes and performing backup of modified files for configuration C:\Users\moret\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\Config

    Moreover no other scheduled backups run correctly and also running it manually it doesn't work.

    Windows 10 Backup with File History

    Turned File History off. Changed Keep from 3 months to Forever. Turned File History back on. Event Viewer shows FileHistory-Core "File History operational state has changed".

    FileHistory-Engine shows "Unusual condition was encountered during scanning user libraries for changes and performing backup of modified files for configuration C:\Users\gphil\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\Config" on 3/8 and this
    is the last entry.

    What I meant by "I will be told that it couldn't complete" is that I get the error message "Reconnect your drive - Your File History Drive
    was disconnected for too long. Reconnect it then tap or click to keep saving copies of your files."

    "Save copies of files" has always been correctly set to "Daily". I have just checked and it is still correctly set.

    Warning/Error messages in Event Viewer:

    104File was not backed up due to being open by an application:

    (obviously this is no big deal)
