Windows 10: File is locked for editing by "another user"

Users reported that files are locked for editing by "another user", but actually no one is using those files.We are using the NetApp OnTapp File server and they said that it is not a storage issue.How can we solve the issue?

I've tried your suggestion, but continue to get: "Locked for editing by Unknown User". The document is an OpenOffice4.1.3 Calc document (.ods). Any other suggestions?

Edit metadata autocomplete list for pictures/music files

I cannot find a way to delete/edit the autocomplete list displayed when editing the metadata on pictures. I get a list of previous entries (some of which are just plain junk) and would like to delete those as suggestions. I tried the steps with the following
link and did not have any success. I do not have a AUTOCOMPLETE listing under "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer".

After editing file changes aren't saved.

  Which account are you using? Is it Administrator account or standard account?
  

I suggest you to login with Admin Account and create a new user account and try to edit the files.

If you don’t have admin account follow the steps below and check if it helps

You can Enable the built in Administrator account in Windows 10, then create a local account.

I suggest you to refer the steps below and check if it helps

  Press Windows+ X, select
  Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.

  When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
  
• 
  At the command prompt, type net user administrator /active: yes, and then press Enter.
  
• 
  Type net user administrator
  <Password>, and then press Enter.
  
  Note In this command, <Password> represents the actual password that you want to set for the administrator account.
  
• 
  Type exit, and then press Enter.
  
• 
  Log off the current user account. And login and check the are you able to edit the files.
