    File Manager Properties>Hardware

    Win 10, Ver 1803, Build 17134.706, Dell Optiplex 9010.

In File Manager, when you right-click on an HDD, then click on "Properties," then "Hardware," it's supposed to display the drive name - not volume name or drive label, but the name shown in BIOS and Device Manager, such as "ST1000DM003." Actually, it shows an alphabetical list of all drives, and supposedly highlights the proper one. My list shows the DVD drive first, then the two HDDs, but all the drives have the DVD drive highlighted in this display. I can select the correct name, but the "Apply" button is grayed out, and the change doesn't stay.

Is there a way to activate the "Apply" button, or some other means to make this work correctly? FYI, My Win 7 laptop also shows the "Apply" button grayed out, so that may not be the key to fixing this (it shows the correct drive, though).

    :)

    ethernet properties

    Hi,

Based on the details provided, it is possible that your network adapter was blocking you to access the ethernet
properties. We recommend that you uninstall your network adapter and scan for hardware changes. To do this, follow these steps:

    Uninstall network adapter:

    • In the search bar, type
      Device Manager
      and hit
      Enter.

    • Select the name of your network adapter and right-click.

    • Choose
      Uninstall.

    • Select
"Delete the driver software for this device".

    • Click on
      Uninstall.

    Scan for hardware changes:

    • In the search bar, type
      Device Manager
      and hit
      Enter.

    • Choose
      Action.

    • Select
      "Scan for hardware changes".

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

    Wire Management

In the articles section there is a reference material that takes a step by step approach on how to sleeve a fans cabling.
    Found Here > TechPowerUp

Im not sure if the same applies to power supplies cables, as the process involves removing the ends of the cables (the male and female molexes for example).

Im sure someone has done it, but theyr probably hardcore about their cable management. Doing such a sleeving process incorrectly on the PSU's molexes could cause damage to hardware as well as possible personal injury/property damage?

    Microsoft Properties

    Hi Greg,

I followed your Task Manager steps and restarted the computer but the issue was still there.

Then I went to the first link you suggested and saw the options available. I elected to go to Microsoft Support to see if they had any File Explorer options available and they did. I downloaded the Mighty File Explorer. Using it, I checked the Properties
of the external drive in question and it was able to see and list the size of the folder correctly! Thank you for your time. This solves the issue.

If you see a need for me to explore the other recommendations that you gave, let me know.

    Thanks again!
