Windows 10: File Open/File Save: Jumping From Selected Directories

The left-hand pane of the File Open and File Save dialogs "jump" from the folder I have scrolled to back to the same folders that were shown when I opened the dialog. This occurs within a few seconds of clicking "open" or "save." I checked this community for solutions and found the ones posted years ago which pertain to File Explorer and the settings for the accent color. This is not the same problem. Turning off the automatic accent color picker has no effect on the behavior of the file dialogs opened from apps.I'm hoping I am not the only person experiencing this aggravating and time-wasting

rar files opens directly without save

Hello friends,
I've one query..
by mistake i selected option "open this type of file directly" while downloading one rar file from my browser.

After than if i click on any rar file link or attachment in forum, regardless of size it opens directly without asking to save to any path option..

how to revert this change?

 

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.
