Windows 10: File preview not working when file is renamed

I often have to scan multiple documents and then rename them. I used to use the preview pane in explorer and then rename in explorer and not do that from Acrobat reader since it is faster to just do it in explorer.Starting yesterday, 3/7/22, if I do it that way the preview pane will not display the file after renaming. It gives me a "File not found - It may have been moved, edited, or deleted. - ERR_FILE_NOT-FOUND" on any file that has been renamed.I just tried renaming by save as from acrobat, and it still reports the same error. The error repeats on local drives, server drives, and share

Play an incomplete avi file?

divfix might be able to help, if not, and VLC and the other suggestions don't work it might just be impossible for your files. Are you sure they're avi files for example, check them out with g-spot. Sometimes funny people rename rar files to avi and such.

 

Delete and Cut Files with Preview Pane Open

• What exactly happens when try to delete the pdf file?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Open File Explorer.
  
• 
  Select View and click on preview panel.
  
• 
  Select the pdf file.
  
• 
  At the right corner you will be able to see preview panel.
  
• 
  You can right click on it and delete the files.

Unable to rename the files with Preview pane option enabled in Windows 10.

1. Yes, I'm able to rename the file if I do not use preview pane.

2. I click on File Explorer that's pin on my task bar. When I start clicking on subfolders to get to the file and rename the path shows it's on "This PC". I'm renaming files that are in one of our servers. Not sure if that makes a difference.
