Windows 10: File Sharing Worked on Wifi, Not on Wired Connection

I have five computers on the same network, four connected by wifi and one wired. One of the wifi computers is for shared file storage only, running Windows 11. I relocated it and plugged it directly into the ISP provided router and turned off wifi, changed no other settings or names. Immediately no other computer on the network could connect to the shared computer. I checked that it was set to Private Network, discoverable, etc., all the same settings as the wifi network settings. I confirmed the four services required for file sharing are running. Network sharing not working over WiFi but works over wired.

Hello,

I have some laptops and computers in my office.

Suddenly out of the blue today, network sharing has stopped working on WiFi devices but is working fine on wired devices.

Why is this happening?
I didn't change any setting.

I tried restarting the router and laptops multiple times but nothing worked.

The wired and wireless connection use the same default gateway with a static IP. IP is different but the default gateway is the same (10.0.0.1)

Why did this happen all of a sudden?
And why is wired connection working but wireless is not?

Edit:
After further testing, even wired to WiFi and WiFi to wired network sharing is working.
But not WiFi to WiFi.

How to sync folders between a wired connected PC and WiFi laptop?

After setting up a homegroup on laptop and PC, I need to log in on both devices. Is that correct?
As I am the only user, I have disabled this (netplwiz).

Also, when I click on Network->Laptop in the Explorer tree, it asks for user id and password, although this has been set to 'Off'
in Network and Sharing Centre->Advanced sharing settings->All Networks.
Yes, I see that I can save those.

However, is it correct that both on my desktop pc and laptop I need to log in?







However, one way or the other, it probably won't work.
After creating Workgroup, join workgroup, made a laptop-folder 'shared' - it shows up in the Explorer tree on my desktop alright, but I have no access to it.
