    file system error -1073740791 after monitors turning off for extended period of time


    I've had this problem for about a week or 2 and need some help. I've tried DDU in safe mode and reinstalling display drivers, tried chkdsk, tried dism, and sfc scans. Nothing seems to be working so I'm almost to the point of reinstalling windows.

    Hi,

    I have recently bought games from steam and wanted to install steam onto my laptop so I can play these games. But as I save it to my selected file it, a message pops up regarding:

    C:\users\USER\Desktop\.....\Steam\steamSetup.exe

    File system error -1073740791.

    I have tried to restore my hard drive but it hadn't made a difference. Also I have tried to use commands such as /sfc... but the it stops at 8%.

    It would be appreciative if you could reply to my problem.
